Coolant Temperature Sensor - Remove and Install

Usage:

C27 AT4

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system to a level below the coolant temperature sensor into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  2. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2).

  3. Remove bolts (4) and position manifold (3) out of the way.

  4. Remove bolts (5) and remove bracket (6).

  5. Disconnect harness assembly (7) and remove coolant temperature sensor (8).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install coolant temperature sensor (8) in reverse order of removal.

  2. Install a new O-ring seal on coolant temperature sensor (8).

    1. Install coolant temperature sensor (8) and tighten to a torque of 20 ± 3 N·m (177 ± 27 lb in).
