Disassembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove the bolts and plate assembly (1). Remove the bolts and plate assembly (2).

  2. Remove plate (3) and plate (4). Repeat for the other side.

  3. Disconnect the harness assemblies from enclosure assembly (5). Remove the bolts and enclosure assembly (5). Remove the bolts and plate assembly (6).

  4. Remove the bolts and plate assembly (10). Remove the bolts and plate assemblies (9) and (11). Repeat for the other side.

  5. Disconnect the tube assembly from plate assembly (8). Remove the bolts and plate assembly (8) from plate assembly (7).

  6. Remove the bolts from plate assembly (7). Use two technicians to remove plate assembly (7). The weight of plate assembly (7) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).

  7. Ensure that plate assembly (15) does not fall over. Remove the bolts from plate assembly (15). Use two technicians to remove plate assembly (15). The weight of plate assembly (15) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

  8. Remove insulation assemblies (13) and (14). Repeat for the other side.

  9. Remove the bolts and plate assemblies (12).

  10. Remove bolts (16), cover (17), and the gasket. Repeat for the other side.

  11. Remove catalyst support group (18) and catalysts (19). Repeat for the other side.

  12. Remove bolts (20) to disconnect housing assembly (21) from the exhaust mixer group. Remove the gasket when housing assembly (21) is removed.

  13. Remove bolts (22) and exhaust injector group (23) from housing assembly (21).

  14. Attach a suitable lifting device to housing assembly (21). The weight of housing assembly (21) is approximately 325 kg (720 lb). Remove bolts (24) and housing assembly (21) from the frame assembly.

  15. Remove bolts (25) from plate assembly (28). Use two technicians to remove plate assembly (28). The weight of plate assembly (28) is approximately 61 kg (135 lb).

  16. Ensure that plate assembly (27) does not fall over. Remove bolts (26) from plate assembly (27). Use two technicians to remove plate assembly (27). The weight of plate assembly (27) is approximately 49 kg (110 lb).

  17. Remove NOx sensor assembly (31) and sensor assembly (32) from manifold assembly (30). Use two technicians to support manifold assembly (30). The weight of manifold assembly (30) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Remove bolts (29) and manifold assembly (30). Repeat for the other side.

  18. Remove bolts (33) that attach converter assembly (35) to exhaust mixer group (34). Repeat for the other side.

  19. Attach a suitable lifting device to converter assembly (35). The weight of converter assembly (35) is approximately 2000 kg (4410 lb). Remove bolts (36), converter assembly (35), and the gasket. Repeat for the other side.

  20. Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust mixer group (34). The weight of exhaust mixer group (34) is approximately 300 kg (660 lb). Remove bolts (37) and bolts (38). Remove exhaust mixer group (34).
