Main Bearings Now Have Larger Diameter Oil Hole For Better Lubrication Of Main And Rod Bearings{1203,1219,1300}

Usage:

3208 Engines

Description of Change: The upper halves of the main bearings have been changed on 3208 Engines starting with Serial Numbers 40S74512 and 90N33517. The new upper main bearings, numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5, have a larger oil supply hole than the former main bearings. The diameter of the oil supply hole has been increased from .22" (5.6 mm) to .31" (7.9 mm). This larger hole increases the oil pressure at the rod bearings from 7 psi (50 kPa) to 33 psi (230 kPa) at rated rpm. The increased oil pressure gives better lubrication to the bearings.

Adaptable As: The new main bearings are a direct replacement for the former main bearings used in 3208 Engines (40S1-Up and 90N1-Up).
