New Tachometer Drive Adapter Has Increased Service Life{7462,1288}

Usage:

3304 (2B, 4B ;
3306 (66D);
3306 (23C) Industrial Engines;
3306 (76R) Truck Engines

Description of Change: A new tachometer drive adapter with increased service life, is used on the above engines. The shaft in the new tachometer drive adapter is held in place by a retainer and two thrust washers. The shaft in the former tachometer drive adapter is held in place by a spring-ring which can wear into the shaft bearings and cause damage to the adapter seal. Also a 5P537 Washer has been added between the coupling and the tachometer drive adapter to make sure the coupling is engaged with the drive shaft in the governor.

Adaptable As: The new 9N3018 Tachometer Drive Adapter and 5P537 Washer, used together, are a direct replacement for the former 9N641 Tachometer Drive Adapter. For parts service, the new 9N3018 Tachometer Drive Adapter and 5P537 Washer must be ordered separately.
