6V83 Emery Polishing Paper{0675}
Usage:
It is Caterpillar's recommendation that you use 6V83 Emery Polishing Paper, grade 4/0, to clean some parts. Grade 4/0 is the correct grade of abrasive to use to clean the following parts:
... Turbocharger shaft seal ring grooves and bearing journals.
... Lift truck hydrostatic transmission parts.
... Piston pump and motor parts.
Grade 4/0 Emery Polishing Paper is also preferred to clean transmission plates that contact discs made of F37 Clutch Friction Material. Grade 2/0 was formerly recommended for this application and grades 2/0 or 3/0 can be used if desired. Do not clean the entire transmission plate. Remove only the high area of a scratch or a burr.
