Improved Woodward Governor Groups{1264,1289}

Usage:

D348, D349, D353, D379, D398, D399 Industrial and Marine Engines

Description of Change: Two new Woodward Governor Groups are used on the industrial and marine engines shown above. The new governor groups have improvements to the compensation and power pistons, which give better control of "overshoot" (the measure above normal engine RPM when the load is suddenly changed from "full load" to "no load"). The improvements to the compensation and power pistons also increased the compensation adjustment and decreased the governor torque output.

NOTE: The reduction in governor torque output from 8 lb ft (11 N·m) to 5.7 lb ft (7.6 N·m) does not have an effect on engine operation.

Adaptable To: The new Woodward Governor Groups are adaptable to the engines shown in the chart.
