Replacing the Fumes Disposal Filter

Note: When possible, perform the maintenance while the engine is off.

  1. Loosen top clamp (3) that holds canister (4). Remove screen cap assembly (2).

Note: Removal may be hazardous while the engine is operating. The canister has positive air pressure while the engine is operating.

  2. Remove the filter element through the top of canister (4). There may be oil in the bottom of the canister. Avoid spilling the oil.

  3. Inspect the rubber O-ring in screen cap assembly (2). Clean the O-ring with a clean, dry cloth. Then, reinstall the O-ring. Dispose of the used element properly.

  4. Install the new element into top of canister (4).

  5. Replace screen cap assembly (2).

  6. Tighten clamp (3) in the CLOSED position.
