Start By:
- Remove the alternator drive belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove two bolts (3) and install Tooling (A) .

- Remove remaining bolts (3). Remove pulley (1) from vibration damper assembly (2) .
- Use two people in order to remove vibration damper assembly (2). The weight of vibration damper assembly (2) is approximately 46 kg (100 lb).
- Remove bolts (7) and remove spacer (6) .

Thoroughly inspect the viscous damper for signs of leakage or for signs of a dented (damaged) case. Either of these conditions can cause the weight to make contact with the case. This can affect the viscous damper's operation. |
- Position damper (5) on adapter (4) .

- Position spacer (6) and install bolts (7) .
- Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.

- Install vibration damper assembly (2) on Tooling (A) .
- Install pulley (1) on Tooling (A) .
- Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (3) .
- Remove Tooling (A) and install the remaining bolts.
End By: Install the alternator drive belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install".
