Radiator - Install - Air to Air Charge Cooler

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to air to air charge cooler (1). The weight of air to air charge cooler (1) is approximately 35 kg (77 lb).

  2. Use the suitable lifting device in order to position air to air charge cooler (1) onto radiator assembly (31).

  3. Install bolts (29) and bolts (30) (not shown) to air to air charge cooler (1) and tighten bolts (29) and (30) (not shown) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove and Install".

  5. Position cowling (28) onto air to air charge cooler (1). Install bolts (27). Tighten bolts (27) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Position guard (22) onto air to air charge cooler (1). Install bolts (21) to guard (18) and tighten bolts (21) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Position panel (24) onto guard (22). Install bolts (23) and tighten bolts (23) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  8. Position guard (26) (not shown) onto guard (22). Install bolts (25) (not shown). Tighten bolts (25) (not shown) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Position guard (14) onto air to air charge cooler (1). Install nuts and bolts (12). Install bolts (13).

  10. Tighten the nuts and bolts (12) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in). Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  11. Position panel (16) onto guard (14). Install bolts (15) and tighten bolts (15) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  12. Position alternator guard (18) onto the radiator assembly and install bolts (17). Tighten bolts (17) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  13. Position guard (20) (not shown). Install bolts (19) (not shown) and tighten bolts (19)(not shown) to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  14. Install tube assembly (10) to the air to air charge cooler and the inlet manifold. Tighten hose clamp (9) and hose clamp (11) securely.

  15. Install tube assembly (7) to the air to air charge cooler and the turbocharger. Tighten hose clamp (3) and hose clamp (8) securely.

  16. Position spacer (5) between tube clips (6). Install the nut and bolt (4). Tighten the nut and bolts securely.

  17. Install guard (2) and install bolts to the guard. Tighten bolts for the guard securely.

  18. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

  19. Turn the air supply at the air reservoir to the ON position.
