Radiator - Install

- Ensure that the radiator assemblies are clean and free from damage and restriction.

Illustration 1 g01707014 - Attach a suitable lifting device to radiator assembly (8). The weight of radiator assembly (8) is approximately
90 kg (198 lb) . - Use the suitable lifting device in order to position radiator assembly (8) to base frame (45). Move the radiator assembly toward the rear of the base frame and align with temporary marks on the base frame.
- Install bolts (42) hand tight to the radiator assembly.
- Align radiator assembly (8) with the fan and the cowling for the fan . Ensure that fan blades are engagement into the cowling by
27 mm (1.1 inch) . Ensure that fan blades are concentric with the cowling. - Tighten bolts (42) to a torque of
78 N·m (57 lb ft) . - Remove the suitable lifting device from radiator assembly (8).
- Position guard (38) onto radiator assembly (8). Install bolts (37). Tighten bolts (37) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Position guard (44) (not shown) onto guard (38). Install bolts (43) and tighten bolts (43) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Position panel (40) onto guard (38). Install bolts (39). Tighten bolts (39) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) .Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g01692393 - Position guard (29) onto radiator assembly (8). Install bolts (28) and then install nuts and bolts (27).
- Tighten bolts (28), nuts and bolts (27) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Position panel (32) onto guard (29). Install bolts (31) and tighten bolts (31) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Position alternator guards (34) and install bolts (33). Tighten bolts (33) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Position guard (30) onto air to air charge cooler. Install the bolts and tighten securely.
- Position guard (36) and install bolts (35). Tighten bolts (35) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) .Show/hide tableIllustration 3 g01693735 Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g01704213 - Connect tube assembly (26) to the bottom of the radiator assembly. Tighten hose clamp (25) securely.
- Connect vent tube (20) from exhaust manifold (21) (not shown).
- Install tube assembly (23) to air to air charge cooler (1) and the elbow for the inlet manifold. Tighten hose clamp (22) and hose clamp (24) securely.

Illustration 5 g01704374 Show/hide tableIllustration 6 g01704233 - Install tube assembly (17) to the water temperature regulator and the radiator assembly. Tighten hose clamp (18) (not shown) and hose clamp (19) (not shown) securely.
- Connect vent tube (16) to tube assembly (17).
- Install coolant level switch (10) to the radiator assembly. Install nuts (11) and tighten nuts (11) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Connect plastic tube assembly (9) to radiator assembly (8).
- Connect plastic tube assembly (15) to radiator assembly (8). Install bolts (13) to tube clips (14). Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of
9 N·m (80 lb in) . - Connect harness assembly (12) to coolant level switch (10).

Illustration 7 g01692375 - Install tube assembly (6) to the turbocharger and air to air charge cooler (1).
- Tighten hose clamp (2) and hose clamp (7) securely.
- Position spacer (4) (not shown) between tube clips (5). Install the nut and bolt (3) and tighten securely.
- Turn the air supply at the air reservoir to the ON position.
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
- Fill the cooling system to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct filling procedure.
