Gasket Removed From Flywheel Housing Cover Groups{1157}

3500 Family Of Engines

Description of Change: The 1W4954 Gasket that was formerly used between the 8N9211 Cover Assembly and the flywheel housing has been removed from the flywheel housing cover groups on the 3500 Family of engines. See the illustration. The gasket has been replaced by 6V6640 Gasket Maker.

Adaptable As: The 6V6640 Gasket Maker is a direct replacement for the 1W4954 Gasket in the 7N9539 and 4W1528 Flywheel Housing Cover Groups on the 3500 Family of engines. Use 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer to be sure the contact surfaces of the cover assembly and the flywheel housing are free of oil, grease and foreign material. Apply a double bead of 6V6640 Gasket Maker to the surface of the flywheel housing that contacts the 8N9211 Cover Assembly.

Location where 6V6640 Gasket Maker is used in place of former 1W4954 Gasket.
