Usage:
A 5P7450 Torque Multiplier is now available for use where torque applications of up to 1500 lb ft (2030 N·m) are needed. The 5P7450 Torque Multiplier has a torque multiplication ratio of approximately 6:1 [gives 6 lb ft (8 N·m) of output torque for each 1 lb ft (1.4 N·m) of input torque].
5P7450 Torque Multiplier.
This new torque multiplier has the same characteristics as the larger 5P3508 Torque Multiplier. The 5P7450 Torque Multiplier has a directional clutch which holds the torque if the input wrench is released. This permits the serviceman to use the torque multiplier in places where the movement of the input wrench is limited. Also, the clutch prevents backlash (sudden movement backward) if the input wrench is released suddenly by accident. The torque multiplier has 3/4" square drive for both the input and output. The output drive shaft is made to shear (break) at approximately 1650 lb ft (2230 N·m) to give protection to the torque multiplier against the application of too much torque. A conversion chart with input torque-to-output torque is fastened to the handle.
