Generator Sets Wired For Use With Customer-Supplied Switch Gear; Do Not Run Without Switch Gear{7002,7400}

Usage:

All Generator Sets Except 3600 Family

Caterpillar offers generator sets with the automatic start-stop option. Also available is a switch gear conversion that removes the generator-mounted control panel from the package generator set. In either case, the dealer or customer is to supply the switch gear. There is NO provision to ACTIVATE the engine protective devices or to start these engines without connecting to a correctly designed switch gear or control panel.

If it is necessary to run the engine without the switch gear installed, refer to the Service Manual Module, Electrical Protection System Energize To Shutoff (ETS), SENR3201, or the Service Manual Module, Electrical Protection System Energize To Run (ETR), SENR3206, Pages 12 and 13.

NOTE: Make a correction to SENR3201, Page 13. In Step 2, change "TS-22" to "TS-26".

The preceding two modules describe the wiring needed to make the starting and shutoff systems function correctly.

Electrical schematics are in the following Service Manual Modules:

... SENR3204 (ETS)

... SENR3209 (ETR for 3500 Family of Engines)

... SENR3249 (ETR for 3200, 3300, 3400 Families of Engines)
