Description of Change: An improved tilt cylinder pin assembly procedure is now available for 994 Wheel Loader. The improved tilt cylinder assembly procedure reverses bolt thread and nut direction to the outside of the machine. This improved pin installation reduces tilt line fouling

(1) 3E-8009 Bolt (2) 5P-2322 Lip Type Seal (3) 8R-3913 Outside Collet (4) 358-7033 Inside Collet

Reuse two 8R-3913 Outside Collets still used on the outside.

Reuse washers, plugs, nuts, and pins.

Remove the 3E-8009 Bolt and the inside 8R-3913 Collet .

Install the updated 358-7033 Collet .

Install the 3E-8009 Bolt (making sure the bolt thread and nut face the outside of the machine).
Note: Follow torque procedure in Special Instruction, REHS1789.

After installing pins, measure gap between pin and inside face of new collet. Use puller hole access. The gap should be at least 3 mm (0.12 inch) or more. 6 mm (0.24 inch) nominal.
