Assembly Procedure

1. Install O-ring seal (12) onto end cap (7).

2. Install O-ring seals (11) and O-ring seal (10) onto piston (9).

3. Install piston (9) into the hydraulic accumulator (boom, hook).

4. Install O-ring seal (8) onto end cap (5).

5. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable holding device to secure hydraulic accumulator (boom, hook) (1). Use Tooling (C) to install end cap (7). Tighten end cap (7) to a torque of 122 ± 6 N·m (90 ± 4 lb ft).

6. Install fitting (6) onto hydraulic accumulator (boom, hook) (1).

7. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable holding device to secure hydraulic accumulator (boom, hook) (1). Use Tooling (C) to install end cap (5). Tighten end cap (5) to a torque of 122 ± 6 N·m (90 ± 4 lb ft).

8. Install the O-ring seal and accumulator charging valve (4). Tighten accumulator charging valve (4) to a torque of 35 ± 2 N·m (26 ± 1 lb ft).

9. If necessary, tighten the cap for accumulator charging valve (4) to a torque of 1.6 ± 0.1 N·m (14 ± 0.9 lb in).

10. Position gas valve protector (3) on hydraulic accumulator (boom, hook) (1) and install bolts (2).

11. Charge the hydraulic accumulator (boom, hook). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Accumulator (Dead Engine Lower) - Test and Charge" for the correct charging procedure.
