Note: The creeper sensor is used in conjunction with the creeper indicator. The creeper system is exclusive to machines: SDH, SJM and LMD.
Components of the Monitoring System
The monitoring system monitors the operation of the machine. The monitoring system consists of the following components:
- Instrument Cluster
- Data Links
- Input components
Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster displays information.

Data Links
The monitoring system continuously monitors all machine systems. The data links allow communication between the following:
- Machine electronic control module
- Sensors
- MSS Tornado
- Switches
- Instrument cluster
- Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET)
