(3) Passage to the rod end of the ejector cylinder

(5) Seat

When you load the scraper bowl, the check valve prevents the scraper bowl floor from opening prematurely. The ejector valve spool is in the HOLD position during load operations. An external force on the floor can cause an increase in pressure in passage (2). This pressure tries to retract the floor cylinder but the position of check valve (1) and seat (5) will not permit movement of the cylinder rod and piston.

When the ejector valve spool is in the RETURN position, pump oil flows to the rod end of the ejector cylinder and into passage (3). The oil flows through check valve (1). The oil opens seat (5). Then, the oil flows out of passage (2) to the head end of the floor cylinders. The ejector moves back and the floor closes.

When the ejector valve spool is in the EJECT position, pump oil flows to the head end of the ejector cylinder. Also, the oil flows to the rod end of the floor cylinder. The pressure of the oil pushes check valve (1) open. The oil from the head end of the floor cylinder is now free to go through passage (2), through check valve (1) and out passage (3) to the rod end of the ejector cylinder. The ejector moves forward and the floor opens.
