Engine Enclosure Group - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the generator enclosure group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Generator Enclosure Group - Remove and Install".

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from parts under pressure.

    Stored energy force will be released when struts are removed.

    Support covers, hoods, or other components prior to the removal or the installation of struts.


  1. Open door (1). Disconnect harness assembly (3). Remove struts (2).

    Note: Support door (1) before removing struts (2).

  2. Close door (2). Remove bolts (4) and door (1). Use two people to remove door (1). The weight of door (1) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

  3. Loosen clamp (6). Disconnect pipe (5).

  4. Remove pin (9). Remove the washer and nut (8). Remove nut (7). Remove lifting eye (10).

  5. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine enclosure (11), as shown. The weight of engine enclosure (11) is approximately 147 kg (325 lb). Remove bolts (12) and engine enclosure (11).

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine enclosure (11), as shown. The weight of engine enclosure (11) is approximately 147 kg (325 lb). Position engine enclosure (11) and install bolts (12).

  2. Install lifting eye (10). Install nut (7). Install the washer and nut (8). Install pin (9).

  3. Connect pipe (5). Tighten clamp (6).

  4. Use two people to position door (1). The weight of door (1) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb). Install bolts (4).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

    Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

    Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.


  5. Support door (1). Install struts (2). Connect harness assembly (3).

End By:

  1. Install the generator enclosure group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Generator Enclosure Group - Remove and Install".
