Start By:

  1. Remove the winch motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Winch Motor - Remove".

  1. Remove bolts (1) and head (2).

  2. Remove port plate (3).

  3. Remove nut (5) and coil (4).

  4. Remove cartridge (6).

  5. Remove plug (7) and the O-ring seal.

  6. Remove piston (8).

  7. Remove cap (9).

  8. Use a depth gauge to measure the distance between the end of screw (13) and locknut (12). Record this measurement for assembly purposes.

  9. Remove locknut (12) and screw (13).

  10. Remove plug (10) and the O-ring seal.

  11. Remove plug (11) and the O-ring seal.

  12. Remove barrel (14).

  13. Remove O-ring seal (15) from housing (16).

  14. Remove spring (17) and shim (18) from barrel (14).

  15. Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (19).

  16. Remove spacer (20) and rotating group (21).

  17. Remove seal (22).

  18. Remove bolts (23), pistons (24), center pin (25), and retainer plate (26).

  19. Use Tooling (C) to remove retaining ring (27).

  20. Remove shim (28).

  21. Place the rotor assembly in a suitable press. Use Tooling (B) to remove shaft (29) from bearing cone (30), bearing cup (31), shim (32), bearing cup (33), and bearing cone (34).
