Procedure to Reroute the Front Harness {5734}

Introduction

This Special Instruction outlines the basic procedures that are required for the rerouting of the front harness on the 994F Wheel Loaders. This procedure will increase the service life of the harness.

Do not perform any procedure in this publication or order any parts until you understand the information that is contained in this publication.

This Special Instruction is available through the normal literature distribution system.

Machine Preparation

  1. Move the machine to a surface that is smooth, hard, and level. Move the machine to an area that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.

  1. Install blocks on the front and the rear of the front tires.

  1. Install the steering frame lock.

  1. Reference Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 for the old and new routing of the harness.

    (4) 8T-4121 Hard Washer

    (5) 4K-8864 Clip

  1. Install the 4K-8864 Clips and reroute the harness. Reference Illustrations 2 and 3 for locations.

    (6) 9X-6772 Cable Straps (Use as required)

    (7) 9R-2613 Weld Boss

  1. Use 9X-6772 Cable Straps (6) in order to secure the harness.

  1. Install 5P-9299 Clips and 130-5300 Clips as shown in Illustration 8.

  1. Use 9X-6772 Cable Straps (6) in order to secure the harness.
