A New Engine Oil is Used for the Factory Fill in Gas Engines {1348}

Description of Change: An Improved engine oil is used in Caterpillar Gas Engines when the engines are filled at the factory. The new oil is formulated from base stocks that are blended with special additives in order to provide the following benefits: anti-oxidation and anti-nitration properties, thermal stability, reduced carbon deposits and reduced formation of sludge.
Adaptable To: The EL250 30W engine oil has been replaced by EL350 40W engine oil. Refer to Specification Sheet, PEHJ0006, "Cat® NGEO EL 350TM".
All Caterpillar Gas Engines that are built after 14February 2005 will have the new EL350 40W engine oil. The new engine oil is adaptable to all Commercial Gas Engines.
