NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2). Plug and cap all openings.

  2. Disconnect harness assembly (3) for the fuel pressure sensor.

  3. Remove fuel filters (6) from fuel filter base (4) with Tooling (A).

  4. Remove bolts (5) and fuel filter base (4).

  1. Position fuel filter base (4) on the engine and install bolts (5).

  2. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2).

  3. Connect harness assembly (3) to the fuel pressure sensor.

  4. Install new fuel filters (6) with Tooling (A).
