SUBJECT: POWER TRAIN OIL FILTER BYPASS ALARM ACTIVATES AT A LOWER PRESSURE THAN INTENDED

PROBLEM: The transmission filter bypass alarm activates at a lower pressure than intended on the listed machines. This creates false alarms during warm up of the machine. Once the machine is warmed up, the bypass warning light and alarm usually deactivate. This alarm condition has caused early hour transmission filter replacements and possibly incorrect filter usage in an effort to correct the problem.

SOLUTION: Replace the 4S-6679 Adapter used to install the 164-7577 Switch Group with a 3T-9549 Adapter. The existing adapter does not place the switch at the correct depth. The adapter is located on the power train oil filter. The adapter is called out in the machine wiring group.
