Usage:
Problem:
Extended use of any one relief valve while raising the hydraulic oil temperature for testing may cause damage to components due to the build-up of localized heating.
Solution:
Vary the relief valve usage and evenly circulate the oil when raising the temperature of the hydraulic system. Operate the control levers between the main and various line relief valves at maximum cylinder displacement. Cycle the cylinders to completely circulate the oil. Do not use any one relief valve for more than 10 seconds with the engine at high idle. After running the engine at high idle at the relief setting, run the engine between 1200 and 1500 RPM. Then change the direction of the cylinder actuation before you continue to warm the hydraulic system at high idle with the relief valve. This operation will evenly distribute the oil temperature and protect components from potential damage.
