E100 Low Engine Oil Pressure Warning
Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following condition:
The engine oil pressure has dropped below the warning trip point for low oil pressure protection for at least five seconds.
System Response:
The ECM will log the warning.
- Low power
Test Step 1. Check the Engine Oil Level
- Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
- Check the engine oil level.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Level - Check".
Expected Result:
The engine oil level is OK.
Results:
- OK - The engine oil level is OK. There may be a problem with the engine's lubrication system.
Repair: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Oil Pressure - Test".
STOP
- Not OK - The engine oil level is low.
Repair: Add engine oil to the proper level. Verify that the repair eliminates the problem.
