(1) Cylinder block

(2) Gasket

Gasket (2) has a bead on one surface. Install the gasket so that the bead is facing side cover (4) .

(3) Cover

Clean the face of the cover with solvent. Apply 8C-8422 Sealant to the cover. Spread uniformly on the face of the cover and around the bolt holes. The cover must be installed and tightened within ten minutes.

(C) Sleeve (5) extends from the face of cylinder block (1) . Distance ... 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.20 ± 0.02 inch)

(5) Six sleeves marked location (X) .

Tighten bolts (6 through 13) in the numerical sequence. Tighten bolts (6 through 13) in the numerical sequence again. Refer to illustration 3.

Tighten the bolts to the following torque. ... 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft)
