TERMINATION DATE
May 31, 2002PROBLEM
The engine oil cooler may develop oil leaks at the o-ring seal or at the gasket joint that is between the cooler and the engine block. The passages in the engine block for the oil cooler connection may be machined as much as 2.4 mm (.090 in) off location. When the o-ring is installed with this off-center location, a portion of the o-ring may slip into the oil passage causing uneven loading at the joint. Oil leaks can then develop with the subsequent torque relaxation at the joint.AFFECTED PRODUCT
