PROBLEM
The case and frame bottom guards need to be replaced on certain D6M Track Type Tractors. Under some working and soil conditions, cracks may occur in the frame. Those cracks are located in frame arms, at rear bottom guard strips. Those cracks are initialized and developed in frame arms, at the rear end of the rear bottom guard strips, where those strips are welded on the side arm plates. There may also be cracks in the same area, but starting in the front part of the bottom guard strips. (See illustration in the rework procedure for crack locations).
