NOTE: This Revised Service Letter replaces the April 25, 2000 (Revised August 2000) Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Termination Date.
TERMINATION DATE
December 31, 2001PROBLEM
The transmission modulating valve on the Forward clutch (no. 2) on many of the D5M and D6M Track Type Tractors can become unstable, causing harsh or chattering shifts. The instability is a result of a small piston volume, a small oil passage to the piston, and the valve design. A new valve, designed to be more stable, replaces the original valve and eliminates the instability.AFFECTED PRODUCT
