The (5X9) filter group currently for the PTO used on D10R Track Type Tractors does not always properly seal against the base of the filter group, letting some oil bypass the filter. A new retainer ensures that both ends of the filter are properly sealed and that all of the oil passes through the filter element.

Parts Needed
Action Required
This rework needs to be performed on any D10R with the 133-1296 Filter Group. This was effective with tractor serial number 3KR620, but has been available for retrofitting earlier machines. The original filter group on 3KR1-619 was 133-1280. If a machine in the 3KR1-3KR619 Range was updated, this letter applies.
Since oil may be continuously bypassing the filter, the new filter elements may plug before the normal maintenance interval of 500 hours. This program allows for two additional filter elements per machine. These elements are to be changed at 250 hours or when they become plugged, whichever comes first.
TO REWORK THE FILTER GROUPS:
- - Refer to the following Illustration.
- - Remove the 133-1298 Retainer (Held in place with a 8M6393 Snap Ring)
- - Install the new 165-8079 Retainer and a new 8M6393 Snap Ring
- - Install a new 132-8876 Filter Element
- - Repeat for 2nd filter group (2 Per Machine)
- - Give the two additional filter elements to the customer for replacement at 250 hours or when they become plugged, whichever comes first.
- - Remove the 133-1298 Retainer (Held in place with a 8M6393 Snap Ring)
