Usage:
NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS40213" as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. If adminstered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If adminstered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

New pins need to be installed and the hydraulic system relief valve adjusted on certain 994 and 994D Wheel Loaders. The 6E6197 Hydraulic System Relief Valve can be set too high if the current adjust procedure is not used or is misunderstood. Also, the pilot stage poppet limiter pin in this valve is incorrect and can allow the valve to be locked closed during adjustment if set above spec. Excessive pressure and hydraulic system damage can result.

- (1-Rework Procedure)
Rework Procedure
1. Remove former 7J2546 Pin (29 mm long) and replace with a shorter 7B5684 Pin (27 mm long). This can be done without affecting the pressure setting by unscrewing the valve at the larger hex plug rather than by removing the adjusting screw. On assembly, tighten the plug to 110±10 N·m.
2. Verify the pressure setting of the valve per Test and Adjust SENR4753-02 (994) or RENR2513-01 (994D).
NOTE: In step 2 of either procedure, "Level the bucket and move the bucket to the lower position", means to power the lift function to full down. When at full down, modulate the system pressure up using care not to exceed the maximum pressure specification, in case the pressure setting of the valve is too high. Adjust the pressure setting to the spec (30400±340 kpa).
3. Relief valves ordered from the parts department prior to February 21, 2000 will contain the 7J2546 Pin. These relief valves should be reworked to install the 7B5684 Pin. Relief valves ordered after this date will contain the correct 7B5684 Pin.
