(1) Remove plug (1) from Front Idler Assembly and apply air pressure to the port. Front Idler Assembly should sustain 245 to 265 kPa (35 to 38 psi) air pressure for a minimum of 30 seconds. Add 380 ± 20 mL (13 ± .7 ounce) of SAE 30-D oil. Replace plug (1).
(2) At assembly, O-rings of floating seal must be clean and dry. Apply a small amount of oil on the contacting surfaces of the metal seals before installation.
(3) Apply a small amount of oil to the seal.
(4) Install the pin with the slit in the range that is specified. The correct position of the pin is shown in View A-A.

(C) Angle from centerline of shaft ... 20 degrees (D) Specified range ... 40 degrees
(5) Install shaft (5). Position the "R" that is stamped on the end face backward into the angular bearing.
End play in axial direction:
- Minimum ... 0.26 mm (.010 inch)
- Maximum ... 1.26 mm (.050 inch)
