Note: New bolts have sealant to the first 13 mm (0.5 inch) of the threads. In order to reuse the old bolts, clean the old sealant from the bolts and apply Tooling (B) to the bolts.

Note: Do Not use any sealant on the inlet manifold gaskets.

  2. Install Tooling (A) in the cylinder head in Hole (X). Position the gaskets and the inlet manifold in the correct position on the cylinder head. Install the bolts in order to secure the inlet manifold to the cylinder head. Tighten the bolts finger tight.

  3. Remove Tooling (A) and install the remaining bolts (10). Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 22 N·m (16 lb ft). Tighten the bolts in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 1.

Note: Do Not use any sealant on the gasket for the air inlet elbow.

Note: Align the Internal Passages (C) of the air inlet elbow and the inlet manifold.

  4. Position gasket (11) and air inlet elbow (2) on inlet manifold (1). Install bolts (3) and tighten to a torque of 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  5. Clean the threads of the air inlet heater. Clean the threads of the inlet manifold. I

  6. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of the air inlet heater. Install air inlet heater (8) into the inlet manifold.

Note: The electrical connector (7) must be facing toward the front of the engine.

  7. Connect fuel line (9) onto the air inlet heater. Tighten the fuel line nut to a torque of 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  8. Connect the harness assembly to electrical connector (7).

  9. Connect harness assembly (6) at the inlet air temperature sensor.

  10. Install boost pressure sensor (5).

  11. Install bolts and clips (4) to secure tube assembly (9) to the inlet manifold.

  12. Install the air inlet hose from the turbocharger to the air inlet elbow.

  13. Remove the air from the fuel system. Refer to the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting Module, "Fuel System - Prime" topic for additional information on removing the air from the fuel system.
