Tightening sequence

(1) Stud

Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of the studs that engage the locknuts.

Torque for studs in cylinder head ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)

(2) Manifold ends

Apply engine oil to the female ends of the manifolds before assembly. Apply 2P-2333 High Temperature Sealer to the male ends of the manifolds before assembly. Remove excess sealer from the assembled joint.

(3) Locknut

Tighten the locknuts in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 3.

Torque for locknuts ... 38 ± 5 N·m (28 ± 4 lb ft)
