The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Some main hydraulic pumps have experienced oil leakage after servicing the main pump oil shaft seal due to missing plugs. If these plugs are not installed after seal replacement, dust and dirt accumulated at the shaft seal may cause repetitive failure.

Solution

Rubber Plug Installation
(1) 360-4612 Plug
(2) 360-4611 Plug

It has been found that the rubber plugs at the front of the pump have been left off the pump after service was completed. The three plugs, 360-4612 Plug and 360-4611 Plug (quantity of 2), must be installed to prevent leakage. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the plugs.
