New Improved Oil Gauge Group Is Now Available On Certain Excavator Machine Engines {1326}

Usage:

Excavator: 349E (S/N: FJB1-UP; ETC1-UP; DGE1-UP; SPG1-UP; TFG1-UP; RGH1-UP; KCN1-UP; MZW1-UP; KFX1-UP; MPZ1-UP; WHZ1-UP); 349F (S/N: BZ21-UP; KEA1-UP; HLB1-UP; HPD1-UP; SFG1-UP; TEW1-UP; RAX1-UP); 352F (S/N: SD21-UP; WNA1-UP; YEG1-UP; A9J1-UP; XAJ1-UP; XAL1-UP; KBP1-UP)

Description Of Change: The new engine oil gauge groups and mounting hardware are used to help abrasion damage from contacting other components.

Adaptable To: The new 495-3109 Oil Level Gauge Gp Dipstick replaces the former 445-5666 Oil Level Gauge As. Refer to Table 1 for a list of part numbers needed to install the new oil gauge tube assembly. The new oil gauge tube assembly is adaptable back to first production of the serial numbers listed above.

Note: Do not mix and match the old and new parts together. Replace the gauge tube and the oil level gauge (dipstick) as a group.

Rework Procedure

Remove the bolts and washers from the engine. Refer to Illustration 1.
Remove the oil guide tube assembly and oil level gauge from the engine.

Install a new seal (11) on the guide tube (10) and lubricate the block dipstick bore before assembly. The oil gauge and oil tube assembly comes as a group.
Install the oil guide tube and oil gauge in the dipstick galley hole in the engine block.
Install bracket (12) and attach the bolt (9) and washer (5) and secure the bracket to the cooler.
Install two piece clips (6), (7) on to the oil guide tube and secure the guide tube with the bolt and washer.
Remove the bolt on the thermostat housing and install a stud bolt (3).
Secure bracket (1) with washer (2) and nut (4) to the thermostat housing.
Install two piece clips (6), (7) on to the oil guide tube and secure the guide tube with the bolt (8) and washer (5).
Secure the oil level gauge (13) into the tube.
