Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the interim solution that is identified below.

Problem

The above listed Mini Hydraulic Excavators equipped with the 432-4559 Window Wiper Group may have an interference with the 436-7870 Clamp used to secure the auxiliary hydraulic tubes. The interference may damage the wiper blade and/or the front window to break in hard power-up function.

Solution

Table 1
Parts (machines without coupler option)
Item  Qty  Parts Number  Description
7C-4354  Clip
243-1353  Spacer
8T-4121  Hard Washer
8T-4195  Bolt

Parts (machines with coupler option)
Item  Qty  Part Number  Description
7C-4354  Clip
243-1353  Spacer
8T-4121  Hard Washer
119-5708  Clip
5P-9297  Clip
8T-6466  Bolt

The parts listed in Tables 1 and 2 are required to reposition the boom tube brackets.

To improve the clearance between the boom tube clamps and the wiper arm, the tubes on the boom can be modified.

Illustrations 1 and 2 show the locations of excess bracket material. By removing 14 ± 1 mm (0.551 ± 0.040 inch) of excess bracket material (A) from each boom bracket will allow for acceptable clearance.
