Muffler and Converter - Remove and Install

Usage:

C27 JHM

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove flexible exhaust pipe.

  1. Remove shield assembly (1).

  2. Remove clamp (3) and straps (2).

  3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the opposite side.

  4. The weight of muffler/converter (4) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb). Remove both muffler/converters (4).

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust support (5). The weight of exhaust support (5) is 55 kg (121 lb).

  6. Remove bolts (6) and exhaust support (5).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install muffler/converters (4) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten straps (2) to a torque of 16.5 N·m (146 lb in).
