Configuration of the Fuel Control
The panel must be configured in order to match the engine fuel control system. The circuit for the fuel control can be configured for an energize-to-shutoff (ETS) circuit or an energize-to-run (ETR) circuit.
Note: Improper configurations can result in loss of shutdown protection of the engine.
Energize to Shutdown
Two jumpers must be installed in order to configure the engine control panel for the ETS circuit. Refer to table 1 for locations of the jumpers.
Location     | Jumper     |
Engine Protection Box     | Terminal 34 to terminal 52     |
Engine Protection Box     | Terminal 82 to terminal 97     |
Energize-to-Run
Two jumpers must be installed in order to configure the engine control panel for the ETR circuit. Refer to table 2 for locations of the jumpers.
Location     | Jumper     |
Engine Protection Box     | Terminal 34 to terminal 51     |
Engine Protection Box     | Terminal 82 to terminal 98     |
Configuration for Electronic Governors
If an electronic governor control is used, configuration jumpers must be set to match the type of electronic governor control. Refer to table 3 for locations of the jumpers.
Governor     | Location     | Jumper     |
2301A and 723+ (EPG)     | Engine control panel     | Terminal 133 and terminal 135     |
723+ (Marine)     | Engine control panel     | Terminal 134 and terminal 135     |
Heinzmann Governor     | Engine control panel     | Terminal 144 and terminal 21 of the "SRX" relay     |
Configuration of the Jacket Water Detector
The circuit for the jacket water detector is configured as an alarm in the minimal protection system. The circuit for the jacket water detector is configured as a shutdown in the complete protection system and the maximum protection system. Refer to table 4 for locations of the jumpers.
System     | Location     | Jumper     |
Alarm     | Engine protection box     | Terminal 14 of the "JWD" relay and terminal 38     |
Shutdown     | Engine protection box     | Terminal 14 of the "JWD" relay and terminal 16     |
