Shutdown Mode

Usage:

3616 1FN
The engine control panel is equipped with three levels of protection for the shutdown circuit:

  • Minimal

  • Complete

  • Maximum

Each level of protection can be ordered with an annunciator. The annunciator is built into the ECP. The annunciator consists of a number of indicators for each condition that can exist. When a condition is out of range, the ECP will illuminate the indicator for that condition.

Table 1 describes the protection that is available for shutdowns for each level.

N/A - Not Available

An optional shutdown indicator can be installed by the customer. The customer can connect one wire of an alarm contact to terminal 41 of the engine protection box (EPB) and the other wire can be connected to one of the following terminals of the EPB: 1A, 90, 91 and 93. The following table shows the shutdown response for each terminal.

Table 2
Terminal     Shutdown Response
1A     The shutdown will be enabled whenever battery power is available and circuit breaker 1 is closed.
90     The shutdown will be enabled whenever the following conditions are met:
Battery power is supplied.
The engine control switch is located in the REMOTE position or LOCAL position.
The fuel control switch is located in the ON position.
If the engine control switch is in the REMOTE position, the auto start/stop relay must also be energized.
91     The shutdown will be enabled nine seconds after the engine is started.
The shutdown will be disabled two seconds after the engine shuts down.
93     The shutdown will be enabled nine seconds after the engine RPM goes above the RPM of the oil step.
The shutdown will be disabled when the engine RPM goes below the RPM of the oil step.
