Valve System Components
气门系统部件在发动机运转期间控制进气和排气流进和流出气缸。
曲轴齿轮通过惰轮驱动凸轮轴。 两侧的凸轮轴都必须与曲轴具有正时对应关系以便获得活塞和气门移动的正确的相互关系。

凸轮轴上对于每个气缸都有三个凸轮。 两个凸轮操纵气门，另一个凸轮操纵喷油器。
每一侧的凸轮轴转动时，凸轮轴上的凸轮就会使挺柱 (6) 上下移动。 此一移动致使推杆 (5) 移动摇臂 (1) 。 摇臂的移动就会使得气门桥 (2) 在缸盖中的定位销上进行上下移动。 气门桥允许一个摇臂打开两个气门。 当挺柱向下移动时，气门弹簧 (4) 的作用力就会使气门关闭。 该气门可以是进气门，或者是排气门。 每一缸都有两个进气门和两个排气门。
转盘 (3) 使得气门能够在发动机运转时转动。 气门的转动使气门上的积碳保持在最低水平，这样就使气门使用寿命更长。
