    Features/Benefits

The reamer shims are used in order to control depth of the injector sleeve reaming operation. The reamer sleeves will allow only 0.25 mm (.010 inch) of material to be removed during each reaming. The reamer shims prevent the sleeve from being too deeply reamed. The shims provide a positive stop at the end of each reaming operation. The reamer shims minimize reamer chatter.

    Procedure

    • Install four shims between the 4C-8713 reamer shanks (2) and the bushing (3) .

    • The sleeve is reamed until the reamer shank contacts the shim.

    • Examine the injector sleeve after reaming.

    • If the injector sleeve is not clean, remove an additional shim.

    • Remove one shim (1) at a time.

    • Repeat the procedure until the proper seat finish is obtained.
