    Typical example

This photograph shows the proper alignment of the pin.

Note: When possible, lower the temperature of the cylinder pins before installation. This process allows more clearance for easier installation.

  1. Install appropriate nylon lifting slings to the head of pin (4) and to the tail end of the pin. Use a suitable lifting device to lift the pin into position on the work tool. The weight of the pin is 75 kg (165 lb). Apply 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize to pin (4). Coat the threads and the smooth surface of the pin. Align the pin with the stops that are welded to the housing. Use a large hammer and a brass drift to install pin (4). When the pin is secure, remove the lifting slings and the lifting device.

  1. Install plate (3) to pin (4). Use Tooling (B) to tighten the plate. After you tighten the plate, back off the plate until the nearest set of holes are aligned.

    Typical example

  1. Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of two bolts (2). Install the two bolts and the washers to the housing.

  1. Lower the crushing arm to the lower housing. Remove the lifting sling from the cylinder bore in the crushing arm.
