Description of Change: New shaft seals are now installed on the main pumps. New shaft seals are now installed on the swing pumps. The new seals have a better sealing ability for the offset or oscillation of the shaft, and a higher resistance to pressure.
Adaptable To: The 259-0884 Shaft Seal and the 259-0883 Cover are direct replacements for the former main pump's 124-9849 Shaft Seal and the 6E-3839 Cover on the following machines:

Replacement of the Main Pump's Shaft Seal and Cover
The procedure for the installation of the new shaft seal on the main pump follows.

- Remove the 6E-3839 Cover from the main pump.
- Remove the 124-9849 Shaft Seal from the main pump.
- Apply clean hydraulic oil to the outside of the new 259-0884 Shaft Seal. Use a 1P-0510 Driver Gp in order to install the seal within the 259-0883 Cover .
- Apply clean hydraulic oil to the seal lip. Install the seal assembly.

Note: The 266-7910 Repair Kit includes the following: One 259-0884 Seal, One 266-7895 Cover, One 5H-3252 O-Ring Seal, One 108-3566 O-Ring Seal, Four 8T-0267 Bolts and Four 4I-5957 Rings .
Note: The weep hole on the former pump will be lost after the installation of the new seal and the new cover.
- Apply clean hydraulic oil to the outside of the 259-0884 Shaft Seal. Use a 1P-0510 Driver Gp in order to install the 259-0884 Shaft Seal within the 266-7985 Cover .
- Apply clean hydraulic oil to the seal lip. Install the seal assembly.
