Start By:

  1. Remove the Travel and Implement Control Valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Control Valve (Implement and Travel) - Remove".


NOTICE

Put identification marks on all components of the main control valve as they are removed. All parts must be reinstalled in their original locations. Do not damage any of the internal parts during removal. A damaged valve component will result in oil leakage and affect valve performance. Keep all internal parts of the valve clean and lubricated.

  1. Remove eight bolts (1) from each adapter and remove two adapters (2).

  2. Remove two seals (3) from the bottom of the adapter (2). Remove plug (4) and seal (5) from adapter (4). Repeat the procedure for the other adapter (4).

  3. Remove 16 bolts (6) and remove cover (7) and cover (8) from the implement and travel control valve.

  4. Remove two small O-ring seals (9) and three large O-ring seals (10) from cover (7). Repeat the procedure for the other cover (8).

  5. Remove five springs (11) and five valves (12). Remove spring (13) and valve (14).

  6. Remove spring (15) and valve (16). The spring and the valve are located under valve (14).

  7. Remove manifold (17) from the control valve.

  8. Remove three large O-ring seals (18), six O-ring seals (19), one small O-ring seal (20), and two O-ring seals (21) from the bottom of manifold (17).

  9. Remove six dust caps (21), six nipples (22), and the O-ring seals from the manifold (17).

  10. Remove two small O-ring plugs (23) and the O-ring seals from manifold (17).

  11. Remove four large O-ring plugs (24) and the O-ring seals from manifold (17).

  12. Remove six plungers (26) and O-ring seals (27) from plugs (25).

  13. Remove six balls (28) from manifold (17).

  14. Remove relief valve (29).

  15. In order to disassemble relief valve (29), use the procedure that follows:

    1. Remove O-ring seals (30), (31), and (32) from relief valve (29).

    2. Loosen locknut (33).

  16. Remove adjuster (34) as a unit from relief valve (29).

  17. Remove O-ring seal (38) from adjuster (34).

  18. Remove load sensing valve (35), spring (36), and spacer (37) from relief valve (29).

  19. Remove adapter (40) from adjuster (34).

  20. Remove O-ring seal (41) from adapter (40).

  21. Remove pin (39) from the adjuster.

  22. Loosen orifice nut (42) and remove retainer assembly (43) from adapter (40).

  23. Remove O-ring seal (44) from retainer assembly (43).

  24. Remove signal duplication valve (45) from the control valve.

    Note: Only the O-ring seals and backup rings in the signal duplication valve (45) are serviceable. However, the valve can be disassembled for cleaning.

  25. Disassemble the signal duplication valve (45). Remove backup rings (54), (55) , and (56). Remove O-ring seal (47), O-ring seal (48), O-ring seal (49), O-ring seal (50), and O-ring seal (52).

  26. Remove filter (57) from the control valve.

  27. Remove two locknuts (58) from coil assemblies (59). Remove two coil assemblies (59) from cartridges (60).

  29. Remove three O-ring seals (61) and two backup rings (62) from the cartridge (60). Repeat the procedure for the remaining cartridge.

  30. Remove two pilot relief valves (63).

    Note: Only the O-ring seals and backup rings in the relief valves (63) are serviceable. However, the valve can be disassembled for cleaning.

  31. Disassemble the relief valve (63). Remove backup rings (65), (66) , and (67). Remove O-ring seal (64), O-ring seal (67), two O-ring seals (68), O-ring seal (69), and O-ring seal (71).

  32. Remove six relief valves (72) from the control valve.

    Note: Only the O-ring seals and backup rings in the relief valves (72) are serviceable. However, the valve can be disassembled for cleaning.

  33. Disassemble the relief valve (72). Remove back up rings (73) and (77). Remove O-ring seal (74), two O-ring seals (75), O-ring seal (76), and O-ring seal (78). Repeat the procedure for the remaining five relief valves.

  34. Remove six plugs (79), and six seals (80) from makeup valves (81). Remove six makeup valves (81).

  35. Disassemble makeup valve (81). Remove valve (86) and spring (85) from makeup valve (81). Remove O-ring seal (82) and backup ring (83) from valve (86). Remove O-ring seal (84) from makeup valve (81). Repeat the procedure for the remaining five makeup valves (81).

  36. Remove ten plugs (87) and O-ring seals from manifold housings. Remove six spacers (89), and four dowels (90) from manifold housings. Remove ten resolvers (88) from manifold housings.

  37. In order to disassemble resolver valves (88), use the procedure that follows:

    Note: Only the O-ring seals and backup rings in the relief valves (93) are serviceable. However, the resolver valve can be disassembled for cleaning and inspection.

    1. Remove backup rings (91) and (92) from resolver valve (88). Remove O-ring seals (98) and (90) from resolver valve (88).

    2. Remove seat (93) from resolver valve (88).

    3. Remove ball (94) from resolver valve (88).

  39. In order to disassemble resolver valves (95), use the procedure that follows:

    Note: Only the O-ring seals and backup rings in the relief valves (95) are serviceable. However, the resolver valve can be disassembled for cleaning and inspection.

    1. Remove two backup rings (99) and two backup rings (100) from resolver valve (95). Remove O-ring seals (96), (97), and (98) from resolver valve (95).

    2. Remove seat (101) from resolver valve (95).

    3. Remove ball (102) from resolver valve (95).

  41. In order to disassemble resolver valves (103), use the procedure that follows:

    Note: Only the O-ring seals and backup rings in the resolver valves (103) are serviceable. However, the resolver valve can be disassembled for cleaning and inspection.

    1. Remove two backup rings (107) and two backup rings (108) from resolver valve (103). Remove O-ring seals (104), (105), and (106) from resolver valve (103).

    2. Remove seat (109) from resolver valve (103).

    3. Remove ball (110) from resolver valve (103).

  42. Remove sixteen bolts (111). Remove two manifolds (112) and two spacers (113) from the control valve body. The combined weight of the manifold and a spacer is 34 kg (75 lb).

  43. Separate spacer (113) from manifold housing (112). In order to disassemble manifold housing (112), use the procedure that follows:

    1. Remove three O-ring seals (117) from manifold housing (112).

    2. Remove three retainers (114), three springs (115), and three retainers (114) from manifold housing (113).

    3. Remove three purging screws (120). Remove three nuts (119) and remove plunger assembly (118) and the O-ring seals.

  44. Repeat step 43 for the remaining manifold housing (112).

  45. In order to disassemble spacer (113), use the procedure that follows.

    1. Remove three O-ring seals (121) from spacer (113).

    2. Remove three plugs (124) and three pistons (122) from spacer (113). Remove O-ring seal (123) from each plug (124).

  46. Repeat step 45 for the remaining spacer (113).

  47. Remove sixteen bolts (125). Remove two manifolds (126) from the control valve body. The weight of the manifold is 25 kg (54 lb).

  48. In order to disassemble manifold housing (126), use the procedure that follows:

    1. Remove three O-ring seals (130) from manifold housing (126).

    2. Remove three retainers (127), three springs (128), and three retainers (129) from manifold housing (126).

    3. Remove three purging screws (133). Remove three nuts (132) and remove plunger assembly (131) and the O-ring seals.

  49. Remove six spools (134) from the control valve.

  50. Position Tooling (A) on the control valve. See Illustration 41 for the position of the tooling. Secure tooling (A) to a suitable lifting device. Position wood blocks under manifold (136). Illustration 41 shows the position of the wood blocks. Remove five bolts (137) (two bolts on top and three bolts on bottom) that hold valve (138) to manifold (136). Remove control valve (138) from manifold (136). The weight of control valve (138) is 204 kg (450 lb).

  51. Repeat step 50 on control valve (135).

  52. If necessary, remove all remaining plugs and O-ring seals from control valve (138). If necessary, remove all remaining fittings from the control valve.

  53. Repeat step 52 for control valve (135).

  54. Remove five small O-ring seals (139), four large O-rings (140) and four large O-rings (141) from manifold (136). If necessary, remove all remaining plugs and fittings from manifold (139).
