Removal Procedure

1. Assemble Tooling (B) and (D) according to Illustration 1. Fasten a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to Tooling (B) and (D). The approximate weight of Tooling (B) and (D) is 270 kg (600 lb).

2. Position the bucket on a flat surface.

3. Remove two full nuts (15) and (18) and bolt (20). Install Tooling (B) and (D) onto pin (19). Use Tooling (A), (B) and (D) to remove pin (19).

4. Assemble Tooling (B) and (C) according to Illustration 1. Fasten a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to Tooling (B) and (C). The approximate weight of Tooling (B) and (C) is 270 kg (600 lb).

5. Remove two full nuts (13) and (14) and bolt (12). Install Tooling (B) and (C) onto pin (16). Use Tooling (A), (B) and (C) to remove pin (16). Remove all shims. Put identification on all shims for installation purposes. Remove one seal ring from each side of the stick between the stick and the bucket.

6. Remove bucket (17) from the stick. The weight of a 7.6 m ³ (9.9 yd³) bucket is 7600 kg (16800 lb).

1. All bores must be free of paint. Lubricate all pin bores.

2. Align the stick with bucket (7). Install one seal ring on each side of the stick between the stick and the bucket. Install shims (4) so the gap between the stick and the bucket is 0.5 mm to 1 mm (0.020 to 0.040 inch). Install Tool (A) on the end of pin (6). Install pin (6) through bucket (7) and the stick.

3. Install bolt (1). Install nut (3) and nut (2). Leave 22 mm (0.860 inch) of exposed threads at the end of bolt (1). Tighten nut (2) against nut (3) to a torque of 480 ± 80 N·m (350 ± 60 lb ft).

4. Install Tool (A) on the end of pin (9). Install pin (9) through bucket (7) and link and bearing assembly (10). Install bolt (11). Install nut (8) and nut (5). Leave 22 mm (0.860 inch) of exposed threads at the end of bolt (11). Tighten nut (5) against nut (8) to a torque of 480 ± 80 N·m (350 ± 60 lb ft).
