Gear Pump (Pilot) - Disassemble

Gear Pump (Pilot)

Start By:

  1. Remove the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Pilot) - Remove" in this manual.


NOTICE

Failure to properly assemble parts or failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts and assembly.

To avoid damage to parts, always identify and mark the parts so that they can be installed in the same location. Ensure that gear surfaces align. Never force parts during assembly.


  1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the pilot pump.

    Note: During disassembly of the pilot pump, put identification marks on the parts for assembly purposes.

  2. Remove O-ring seal (1) from the pilot pump.

  3. Remove four socket head bolts (2). Remove the end frame from the housing.

  4. Remove O-ring seal (3) from the frame.

  5. Remove thrust plate (4) and the two rings from the pump housing.

  6. Remove square ring (5) and backup ring (6) from thrust plate (4).

  7. Remove bushings (7) from the end frame.

  8. Remove drive gear (8) and idler gear (9) from the pump housing.

  9. Remove two bushings (10) and two dowels (11) from the pump housing.
