Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Check the condition of the radiator prior to the installation. Remove any dirt or debris that may restrict the flow of air through the core. If any of the cooling fins are bent, the fins should be straightened.
- Fasten Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to radiator (5), as shown.

- Carefully position the radiator on the machine, as shown. The weight of the radiator is 55 kg (120 lb).
- Install eight bolts (4) that hold the radiator to the support assembly.
- Connect the radiator overflow hose (3) .
- Connect radiator bottom hose (2). Tighten hose clamp (1) .

- Connect the radiator top hose. Tighten the hose clamp on the radiator top hose.
- Fill the cooling system to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
End By:
- Install the hydraulic oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Oil Cooler - Install" in this manual.
- Install the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove and Install" in this manual.
- Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install" in this manual.
