Lepaskan kepala dan periksa katup dan dudukan katup. Tindakan ini diperlukan untuk menemukan kerusakan kecil yang umumnya tidak akan menyebabkan masalah. Perbaikan untuk masalah tersebut umumnya dilakukan saat Anda mengkondisikan ulang engine.
Engine Caterpillar ini menggunakan ring piston Keystone. Ring piston Keystone didesain untuk mengembang selama langkah kompresi engine. Pada kecepatan penstarteran engine, ring piston Keystone tidak mengembang sepenuhnya. Ini menyebabkan pembacaan kompresi silinder tidak stabil. Oleh karena itu, Caterpillar tidak menyarankan pengujian kompresi pada engine yang menggunakan ring piston Keystone.
