SUBJECT: GOVERNOR MOTOR

PROBLEM:

A supplier component in the 171-2628 Motor As-Governor was discontinued. The 221-8765 Motor As-Governor was used in order to replace the 171-2628 Motor As-Governor. The 221-8765 Motor As-Governor may fail on the affected machines causing the inability to control the engine speed with the engine speed dial or the engine speed back-up switch.

SOLUTION:

Note: Failures of the 221-8765 Motor As-Governor are occurring at very low hours and should be handled under standard warranty while a field support solution is being investigated.

Replace the governor motors that have failed with the new 221-8919 Motor As-Governor. Refer to the appropriate service manual for replacement and calibration procedures. The 221-8919 Motor As-Governor is effective with CJC00564 and AKE00192.
